I use to get the Sunday Scaries, everyone who works long hours Monday thru Friday know them. I would feel overwhelmed, unprepared, and stressed with all the work to come and the clutter of a live in home. After having my first child in February I have less free time than before! Creating this 30 minutes Sunday reset that i can accomplish every Sunday during my child's nap time has set the stage for me to have a successful week. You may have heard of the trend "Sunday Reset" that has taken over social media, that is because it truly works! You have more mental clarity come Monday morning and reduce decision fatique.
The first step is to create a 30 minute timer and put on some music. I like to put my headphones in hopes that I wont wake the baby! The first 10 minutes or so I clean up the dirty dishes, fill the dish washer, wipe down the counter from the breakfast and lunch cooking. Next, I walk around the house and pick up the toys, blankets, miscellaneous items that were not place in their proper home. The toys we use often are tossed into a toy basket that is placed under our tv stand, blankets are toss in the washer, and all miscellaneous items are placed in a pile in the room they belong to later organize.
The next 5 or so minutes i wipe down the bathroom and grab all the towels to wash and replace with new ones. If the towels can be washed with the blankets they get tossed in together, or placed in a laundry basket in the laundry room. I use the remaining time on the timer to finish laundry because there are always items to be folder and put away. As a new boy mom my child goes through almost 3 outfits and burp clothes a day.
When the alarm goes off, i take breather, light a candle, and relax until nap time is over!
Some Sunday's I'll have a bit more energy so I may tackle other items in my home but knowing I took 30 minutes to reset the basics, I am happily and mental refreshed!
Here's a list of some of the items I use on my 30 minute Sunday Reset!
